چکیده

Abstract In Bantul, Southern Yogyakarta, groundwater is the main source of domestic water needs. Therefore, knowing hydrogeochemistry crucial in order to manage a sustainable resource. To characterize compelling geochemical processes that control chemistry, further hydrogeochemical examinations were directed area. Thirty samples collected from shallow dug wells during early dry season (April 2021). Sampling procedures and chemical analysis carried out as per standard methods with secondary data obtained 2006. The evaluations depicted using several graphical plots dependent on ionic constituents, hydrochemical facies, controlling factors quality. Two major facies identified: alkaline-earth higher alkali; bicarbonate predominated (62%) water; (32%). Weathering silicate minerals occurs 70% recent predominantly regulates ion chemistry such calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium. Chloro-alkaline indices 1,2 values signify there are two potential rock-water interaction study region, namely exchange reverse exchange. Concentrations nitrate, sulfate, chloride indicate has not been heavily contaminated by land use area still mainly controlled geogenic rather than anthropogenic activities.

Hydrogeochemical Evaluation, Groundwater Quality and Health Risk Assessment of As, Cr, Ni and Pb in Zarabad Aquifer

Most local people in the agricultural areas of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (Iran), generally consume shallow groundwater from farm wells. This study aimed to assess the water quality and health risk potentially of As, Pb, Cr and Ni for drinking purposes in Zarabad aquifer. Also the geochemical processes controlling chemistry of Zarabad aquifer were studied. Piper diagram shows two major hyd...

Hydrogeochemical investigations and groundwater quality assessment of Torbat-Zaveh plain, Khorasan Razavi, Iran.

Hydrogeochemical investigations of groundwater in Torbat-Zaveh plain have been carried out to assess the water quality for drinking and irrigation purposes. In this study, 190 groundwater samples were collected and analyzed for physicochemical parameters and major ion concentrations. The abundance of major cations and anions was in the following order: Na(+) > Mg(2+) > Ca(2+) > K(+), and Cl(-) ...

Incidence of childhood leukemia in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, 1998-2009.

BACKGROUND In most developing countries, incidence data for childhood cancers are less reliable, because very few population-based registries exist. The aim of this study was to present the epidemiology of childhood leukemia in the Dr. Sardjito Hospital (DSH) region, which catchment area extends beyond the boundaries of the Yogyakarta Special Province (YSP). PROCEDURE Health records of childr...

Geochemistry, Groundwater and Pollution: "Learning by Modeling"

Predicting the fate of chemicals that leach from waste deposits and deciphering their transport in the invisible subsoil must rely on 1) understanding the pattern of groundwater flowlines and travel times, 2) insight in the chemical reactions which retard the solutes, and 3) the quality of the database of the geochemical model. Inhomogeneities in an aquifer can be deduced from tritium/helium ag...
